The MIKE CAIRD boxing story: By Brian Zelley Mike was an amateur boxer until 1964 and was a 1963 BC Golden Gloves Champion.  After boxing, Mike would turn to coaching.  In 1974, Ian Weir. Brian Zelley and Dan Wright would join up with Mike to revive boxing in Victoria. Western Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame: by Brian Zelley In April 2017, the Western Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame was established by Lincoln Suchit and Brian Zelley. The first inductees will be selected December 26, 2017. Some early likely picks include Scotty Olson and Dale Walters  Jimmy McLarnin. A potential first year inductee into the Western Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame along with Scotty Olson, Jimmy McLarnin and a selection of others. *It is expected that the Western Canadian Boxng Hall will follow the format of the BC Amateur Boxing Hall of Fame established in 2010.
